Secrets Of Cuisine: Spring Cookery Demonstration And Flower Workshop

(Friday 14th March, 10am – 4pm)
Easter is nigh! Join us as our chefs prepare an innovative 4-course menu in the Garden Room using seasonal ingredients. Taste the first two dishes during the demonstration and the main course and dessert at lunch. Jan Faulkner will then guide you through the process of creating your own Spring floral display, unique in design and the ideal centrepiece for Easter.

In April 2007 we set aside our traditionally apologetic English nature and opted to celebrate our national day in style. As ever, guests entered into the spirit of things and we were treated to some delightful anecdotes, speeches and even a dramatic performance and some fine singing!! Full Day Beginner’s Watercolour Art Workshop

(Friday 2nd May, 10am-4pm)

This session is suitable for absolute beginners or those wishing to improve their watercolour techniques. Local artist Sue Ford will spend the morning demonstrating basic approaches to watercolour, offering a step-by-step approach and creative guidance. After lunch, art kits will be provided for each guest to participate in a hands-on drawing and painting workshop. Includes coffee, a light 2-course lunch with wine and cream tea & scones.

Judges Dining Club Members’ Night

(Friday 9th May, 7.15-11pm)

Are you a Dining Club member who would welcome the chance to mingle with other members. After cocktails and canapés in the lounge with our general manager Tim Howard, you will be treated to the usual high standard of cuisine you have come to expect. Eddie Ludlow, formerly of Glenmorangie, now a freelance whisky consultant, will then guide you through a range of malt whiskies in an innovative and unexpected fashion. ‘Whisky-phobes’ fear not! Just leave your preconceptions at home and prepare to be surprised and delighted by the nuances and sheer versatility of whisky. Includes a 6-course menu, wine and whisky.

Tai Chi And Self Healing Massage Workshop

(Friday 18th July, 10am – 3pm)

A brand new event for Judges! Join Robin Sunley of Sun-Ley Chinese Martial Arts for a morning of Tai Chi and an afternoon of Self-Healing Acupressure. Yang-style Tai Chi is suitable for people of all ages and build, at all levels of fitness. When practised correctly, it promotes good posture, flexibility, and both physical and mental health and harmony.

The day will begin with some gentle warm-up exercises followed by some exercises from the Yang-style 8-step. Weather permitting, the Tai Chi session will take place in the relaxing setting of Judges beautiful gardens.

After a light 2-course lunch in the restaurant, Robin will guide you through a series of self-massage techniques based on Chinese health principles, which can relieve common aches and pains and promote good health. Afterwards you will practice some more Tai Chi and the day will finish with tea and scones. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing and soft shoes. Includes arrival drinks, a smoothie break, a 2-course lunch and tea and scones.

British Red Cross, Judges Open Gardens Day

A chance to take a pleasant walk through Judges’ delightful gardens whilst making a contribution to a very worthy charity. Take a stroll around our 30 acres of gardens and woodland, making the walk as long or short as you wish. Enjoy features, such as babbling brooks and glorious plants and shrubs. Annual Wine Tasting

A showcase of wines, including some with a festive flavour. Sample Sparkling wine, delicious food wines, a dessert wine and a Port, perfect for the Christmas season. CHEF FOR THE DAY

Ever wanted to join our team of Chefs for the day and learn a few secrets of the trade?

Your day will commence at 9.30am when, after coffee, you will get to work with your own chef. After a quick lunch, youll be back to your station during service to see how the kitchen really ticks. Youll finish around 2.30pm, when we serve you Afternoon Tea in our lounge.

Youll learn new dishes and techniques and enjoy a unique experience.

Places are strictly limited and available Monday to Thursday only. Chefs whites provided.

BOOKING SPECIAL EVENTS

PAYMENT

Full prepayment for all events is required at time of booking, unless agreed by management. All refunds are at the managers discretion.

Dining Club members are not required to pay for events in advance. Provisional bookings must be confirmed by e-mail or in writing no later than one week before the event. If written confirmation is not received, we will release your booking.

DIETARY REQUIREMENTS

Please let us know upon booking for special events if you require a vegetarian meal or have any other special dietary requirements.
